Norwesters Steve Hennings and Scott Thomson, received the prestigious Stefanko Best Paper Award for 2007 for their paper entitled "A Petroleum Industry Approach to Coal Mine Gas Drainage."

Anibal Araya and Eduardo Manrique's article on "CO2 Capture and Geologic Sequestration - What it is and its Implications" was published in the February edition of the CPSA Journal.

Norwesters Mahmood Ahmadi and Mehdi Izadi authored papers to be presented at the 2008 SPE Annual Technical Conference to be held Sept. 21 - 24 in Denver, Colorado.  Ahmadi's paper is entitled "Numerical Inversion of Laplace Transformations in the Solution of Transient Flow Problems with Discontinuities," (SPE-116255-PP) and Izadi's paper is entitled "Pressure-Transient Analysis in Discreetly Fractured Porous Media," (SPE-116739-PP).
